Famous fashion bloggers
My alltime blogging heroine Susanna Lau a.k.a. Susie Bubble is in town and today I had an interview with her, supported by Elina Tozzi and Felicia Nitzsche (the forces behind the best street style blog from Amsterdam Dam Style and also my partners in crime on the book project I’m still working at). Susie is as lovely and friendly as I expected she would be. Stupidly we forgot to ask someone to make a photo of the three of us, but luckily Felicia and Elina took a pic of Susie for Dam Style.
Susie Bubble is not the only fashion blogger who’s around, because of Amsterdam International Fashion Week. Another popular blogger, Garance Doré from Paris, will also make her appearance around the catwalk and beyond. She’s asked by FOAM (photography museum) to take photos at the fashion shows and numerous events programmed for Fashion Week. Doré’s photos, which naturally include many featuring Amsterdam’s fashion-conscious public, show her personal vision of AIFW. Her photos are presented at Foam in projection shows and in prints arranged on the wall. This remarkable AIFW fashion blog is updated daily during the AIFW with new pictures.
The great coincidence was that, this morning, when I was preparing the interview with Elina and Felicia on a terrace, a classy looking woman walked down closer and closer. She was wearing her curly hair knotted and so I didn’t immediately recognize her, but she looked so familiar to me. After having a better look and seeing the camera around her neck, there was no doubt it was Garance Doré! Together with Susie Bubble she will be a jury member of the Lichting 2009: the best academy graduates of the year 2009 in 1 central catwalk show that takes place tomorrow evening (attendance by invitation only).
