Dutch designer Petra Reijrink makes one of a kind jewelry with elements collected from all over the world. Petra’s designs, handmade in her The Hague atelier, are part of six thematic collections: from Vintage to the girly Petit Petra. Almost every ring, necklace, bracelet, you name it, is unique. Which means there is only a small chance you see anybody else wearing the same piece. But you might recognize some elements that look familiar to you, especially in the Petit Petra line. For example the birds shown above are pink copies of a white version I own by a pair of earrings of another brand. Well, it doesn’t make them less cute!
The new Exclusive collection of Petra Reijrink holds original items in various styles, like Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and are all collected during journeys abroad or visits to antique markets. These wearable storytellers, including jewelry containing antique silver lorgnettes, powder boxes and perfume bottles from the period 1860 – 1940 will be shown and sold at fashion boutique SPRMRKT in Amsterdam this Saturday. Petra will attend the event to explain the background of the used treasures and techniques.
