Hip hip hurray! This year, Foam celebrates its tenth anniversary. Just like one decade ago, when the photography museum of Amsterdam opened with Dutch Delight, a group exhibition with an art historical theme is held. This time ‘still life’, a collection of unanimated objects, is the central topic that has been captured by a group Dutch contemporary photographers. One of them is the gifted Krista van der Niet, who I met when working on the book Fashion Blogs (Krista did the chapter stills), and who became a dear friend of mine. Still/Life shows two works of Krista: the fantastic fruit photo as shown on top, but also a second one, which you can see when you visit the show.
Still/Life forms a survey of the talent that Foam has discovered, followed and presented in the last ten years: Melanie Bonajo, Kim Boske, Blommers & Schumm, Elspeth Diederix, Fleur van Dodewaard, Uta Eisenreich, Peggy Franck, Marnix Goossens, Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky, Paul Kooiker, Anouk Kruithof, Yvonne Lacet, Lernert & Sander, Charlott Markus, Katja Mater, Krista van der Niet, Jaap Scheeren & Hans Gremmen, Scheltens & Abbenes, Diana Scherer, Johannes Schwartz, Ingmar Swalue, Marianne Vierø, Anne de Vries and Qiu Yang.
