The moon is the ruling planet of Cancer, my star sign, and for years I have been fascinated by her beautiful appearance and her different ‘moods’. So must be the Russian artist Leonid Tishkov.
As far as I could find out by searching on the web, he created his own ‘Private Moon’, back in 2003.
To get this illuminated object photographed, he worked together with compatriot and photographer Boris Bendikov. The non-Photoshopped result is stunning! The series (that contains more photos, I’m only showing a part of it) is the visual telling of a man who met the moon and stayed with her for the rest of his life after seeing her fall from the sky.
Later the duo did the same with a star. The ‘Private Moon’ however has traveled over the world to enlighten many places, from Paris to Milan, and even the Arctic!
On Leonid Tishkov’s blog you can find pictures from his globetrotting moon.
