A room with a view
The famous Droog store / gallery in Amsterdam has been transformed into a hotel, housed in 700 square metres in a 17th century building. ‘A hospitality experience’, as Droog calls it. Hôtel Droog is a place to drink, eat and shop design, fashion and beauty.
It’s also an exhibition space and it even has a room. The one and only bedroom of Hôtel Droog offers besides a bed, a living area and kitchen and it provides a superb view over Amsterdam rooftops.
I mostly look forward to hang silently around in the magical fairy tale garden. Designed by French Designers Claude Pasquer and Corinne Détroyat, the former Droog courtyard has been transformed into a shelter for biodiversity, where natural and artifi cial elements intermingle. All elements are functional, attracting, feeding, watering, and providing respite for birds, butterflies, insects, flowers, edible plants and humans alike.
Hôtel Droog officially opens September 16th , 2012.
