Delikatessen: not just your ordinary brand of men’s clothing
The uncommon name for a fashion brand fits this men’s label from head to toe.
Delikatessen is for finest fashion connoisseurs. The two creatives behind the Amsterdam-based brand are Andre Lisowski en Stephen Hartog. They fancy uncomplicated clothes with a perfect fit, as they say.
What I like about the designs is that it’s daring and different, but wearable. Okay, it’s not for every type of guy out there. To wear some pieces of the S/S 2014 collection – influenced by abstract, optical art – he might need a pinch of bravado running through his veins.
The outfits in the current A/W 2013 collection have a more subtle, nonchalance appearance. Shirts have small collars, blind inside pockets and French sewing details. Other precious elements are for example buttons of Mother of Pearl or olive wood. The collection is named by the Sicilian dish ‘Caponata‘, a mix of sweet ‘n sour ingredients with a great taste.
Delikatessen is designed in Amsterdam and produced in small ateliers in Poland and online available via NOT JUST A LABEL and in Dutch stores like Look Out, Reflect and Spoiled in Amsterdam, White in The Hague and Cris in Utrecht.
